Circle Maven: Shama Viola

Shama Viola leads the Proclamation Circle for Founding Mothers Movement. Shama Viola (Manuela Terraluna) was born in Ravenna, Italy, and moved to the United States at age 24 in search of greater personal freedom and self-expression. Over the next three decades, she lived in California and Hawaii, studying with many gifted teachers, Lazaris, Hal and Sierra Stone, and Shakti Gawain among them, becoming a respected spiritual mentor in her own right. In 2001, her journey led her back to Italy, where she became a citizen of Damanhur – an intentional spiritual community renowned for its underground Temple of Humankind and its pioneering exploration of consciousness, sacred ritual, and human potential.

A lifelong seeker and guide, Shama has traveled extensively, offering courses, presentations, and transformational journeys that invite others to awaken their potential and walk a path of integrity, sacredness, and joy. Her teachings reflect a deep commitment to the path of Excellence – not as perfection, but as the ongoing refinement of one’s soul and purpose. She is the creator of Bral Talej, an intuitive oracle deck rooted in Damanhur’s sacred language and the author of its companion guidebook. Through her natural gift of intuition, she offers personal readings and courses on how to use the deck as a tool for inner guidance and spiritual insight. Her book The Way to Excellence guides people on how to live a life infused with meaning, purpose, creativity and grace. Today, Shama continues to live and teach in Damanhur, where she remains devoted to conscious living, community, and the ever-unfolding journey of the soul.
